The Canadian Improv Games held its 25th Anniversary
celebrations April 12 and April 13.
April 13 was a special night of the Games - with speeches
by Howard Jerome, Willie Wyllie and David Shepherd,
79-year old improv guru, and with help from Games' grads, it was
preceded by a gala emceed by Glen Cross at the NAC Fourth
Stage.
At the Gala we saw a performance by The Company of Fools,
Howard Jerome's rap, and improv by Tyler Westerlund,
John Fucile, Terry McGurrin and Adam Reid.
The Friday FORUM consisted of this panel:
Chris Moore, Alistair Cook, Michael Golding, Glen Cross, John
Fucile, Howard Jerome, Marti Maraden, Terry McGurrin, Stephanie
Moore, Ed Neuvremont, Maureen Welch, Willie Wyllie, Hugh Neilson
and David Shepherd.
It was hosted by the very articulate Ken Rockburn, from CBC
and CPAC.
JUDY KIRSH was awarded a VISION AWARD by the Games. She
was Willie Wyllie's improv coach, and thus an important person in
the development of the Games.
Willie Wyllie and Howard Jerome also received the
VISION award for their creation of the Games.
There was a wonderful dinner for guests of honour and recipients
of the Founder's Award.
