Canterbury won NATIONAL GOLD in the Canadian Improv Games this weekend!

 

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to  coaches Jeff Lawson and Dave Dawson and of course to the TEAM, who beat second place Regina by TWO points!


CONGRATULATIONS to CARI LESLIE who won the Johnson Moretti Heart Award! Cari played for Glebe this year, after getting Glebe back in the Games, and into the semi-finals!

MARTIN GERO is one of the writers nominated for a Hugo Award for Stargate SG-1, 200,  in the category, Dramatic Short Form.
The show is  written by Brad Wright, Robert C. Cooper, Joseph Mallozzi, Paul Mullie, Carl Binder, Martin Gero, and Alan McCullough. Directed by Martin Wood. (Double Secret Productions/NBC Universal 

The winners will be announced at the Hugo Awards Ceremonies during the 65th World Science Fiction Convention in Yokohama, Japan, on Saturday, September 1.


RAOUL BHANEJA and ROB PARKER are bringing their one-man Hamlet to The Waterfront Festival in Dartmouth, N.S., in May. Then they have a week’s run at the York Shakespeare Festival in Newmarket. And one week at The Grand Theatre, London, Ontario, in the fall.

DAVE NUGENT is on his way back to New York from Stratford, with a new play commission in hand.
David’s fledgling theatre company One Kind Theatre- NY was recently awarded a New York State Council for the Arts grant, to co-develop and workshop his newest play, The Old Woman, her Song and the Waves, in collaboration with Medicine Show Theatre this spring. Other projects include collaborations with three NYC based composers to write Ghost Songs, a political musical for New Sounds Theatre (NYC).

JEN GOODHUE and KURT SMEATON and  other possible Bofa/Canterbury  grads will be performing in Micetro Impro, a new weekly improv showcase, Thursdays,  at the Diesel Playhouse in Toronto. 

Congratulations to Canterbury’s 2007 improv team, in second place in the Ottawa standings, and heading for the Nationals of the Canadian Improv Games, along with Lisgar and Glebe, April 3-7.  Canterbury plays in the semifinals at the NAC, Thursday, April 5. CARI  LESLIE is with the Glebe team.


ERIN PLEET  is heading to Queen’s after she graduates, for Master’s degrees in  Public Administration and Law.

She went to see ROBIN TOLLER in his LAMDA production of Two Gentlemen of Verona in London.
