BOFA is the Canterbury High School Improv team based in Ottawa, Ontario. It’s also the rallying point for one of the most diverse and prolific groups of actors, writers, directors, musicians and professionals in the country. Since BOFA’s inception in 1989, it has garnered six gold and four silver medals and most recently a bronze medal, at the national level of the Canadian Improv Games. The graduates of this improvisational theatre system stretch from Los Angeles to Vancouver, from New York to London. BOFA’s coach, director, creator, producer, teacher, mentor is Jane Moore. From its peerless fans, legendary in C.I.G. mythology, to its much-lauded professional shows, to its often flawless improv, everything about BOFA is first rate. BOFA continues to shine, thriving fifteen years after its first national championship, and year after year influencing the Canadian Improv Games through its creative and ground-breaking events. Graduates, forever carrying a piece of BOFA with them, are now influencing all facets of the Canadian artistic scene. This web site is a chronicle of teams, past and present, and a touchstone for those who wish to keep track of each other as their lives and careers move on.
